Our Members grow Orchids in various ways. Some are grown in the house. Some in Wardian cases. Some in greenhouses. Some in the garden in summer. Some a mixture of all ways mentioned. Orchids are not difficult to grow and guidance will be given to new growers if required. Please do not be put off by the thought that orchids need high temperatures to grow. Plants need temperatures similar to those they enjoy in the wild. Those growing at high altitudes are often grown with a minimum night temperature of 50°F (10°C). Flowers last for varying lengths of time, from a few hours (not very many) to three or more months.

If you are tempted by Orchids, why not call in to one of our meetings and learn a bit more.

Sussex Orchid Group meetings start at 2.30 p.m. the third Sunday of every month, unless otherwise stated. See **
